Wooden Craft Ideas
Wooden crafts are a wonderful way to create something beautiful without spending a fortune! There are so many lovely projects you can do with just wood and things you might already have lying around your home! From gorgeous jewellery holders to stunning home décor pieces, you can create so many beautiful rustic designs!
I've got four lovely rustic wooden frames for picture or mirror. If you have a lot of necklaces that you'd like to hang to avoid tangling, I've got just the thing for you! This lovely jewellery holder is made out of a flat piece of wood, such as lovely driftwood or just a thin piece of wood that's about one inch thick.
Now, to make this lovely necklace holder, you'll need to find some nice, sturdy sticks to use for holding the jewellery. Now, these sticks will be secured in the flat piece of wood. You can paint the wood if you'd like, or keep it the original colour – whatever you prefer!
Now for the fun part! To insert the sticks into the wood, simply drill holes that are just a tad smaller than the size of the sticks. Then, you'll carefully carve the ends of the sticks so that they fit nicely into the flat wood. Now, just secure the sticks in the wood with a little wood glue, and you're all set! Now for the fun part! To hang your lovely new holder, simply use two small nails on each side of the top of the board. Now, just attach a wire to the nails and hang it from a screw.
If you're looking for a lovely mirror decoration for your home, you can easily make one out of wood! I'm so excited to show you how to make this! All you need are a few simple supplies. You'll need around 15 one and a half inch wooden circles. You'll also need around 15 three-inch wooden circles, which I'm sure you'll find really easy to source! Now, for the mirrors, you'll need circular mirrors in two sizes: one inch and two inches. I'd suggest getting about 10 of each size, just to be on the safe side!
You'll also need a few other bits and bobs, like black tea bags, mounting tape or adhesive hooks, and wood glue. You can even use the tea bags as stains for the wooden cut-outs! Once they're nice and dry, pop the mirrors on the wooden circles with a little wood glue. Then, it's time for the fun part! Glue all of the wooden pieces together with the wood glue in whatever design you'd like. Then just leave it to dry overnight. And that's it! You're all done!
If you have some larger tree branches lying around your yard, why not give them a new lease of life by cutting them into circles to create coasters for your home? All you need to get started is a piece of wood that's around four inches in diameter. Now, just cut the branch into circles that are about half an inch thick. You can even sand the inside of the wood to make it nice and smooth! Then, you can paint the surface with designs if you'd like. This can be a very quick and simple way to add a bit of wooden decoration to your home or to give out as gifts.
Have you ever thought about making your own wooden crafts? They're really easy to do and can make your home look absolutely stunning! The best thing is that they're usually affordable, as you can use materials you already have at home. What's more, they're a great way to give gifts that you've made yourself, rather than just buying them.
